It feels like the author has lost his love for Artemis. It seems like he is using these last few books not to please the Artemis fans but more to stand on a soap box about saving the environment, and to express just how repugnant he finds the average human being on this polluted earth. He throws in some token Mulch Diggums jokes but even those feel predictable and forced. Opal again? :-(

Those who have been faithfully following this series will know that this is book six of the adventures of the teenaged criminal mastermind, Artemis Fowl II.Picking up at Fowl Manor, we learn that three years have passed while Artemis was otherwise occupied, and that he now has two brothers, twins named Beckett and Myles. This book goes in a different direction to the previous plot, making no mention of some of the characters introduced in The Lost Colony. There are references to certain events, but other than the main characters, most of the story is new material. As the title implies, an older and more mature Artemis Fowl enlists the help of his friend Captain Holly Short, dwarf Mulch Diggums and the imp warlock No.1 to journey to the past to correct a mistake he made earlier in his eventful life. His mother has contracted a rare disease that can only be cured by an extract from the brain of an extinct lemur, and ironically, the extinction was hastened by young Fowl himself. The time trip gets very complicated when Artemis matches wits with his younger self, and rescuing the lemur from Dr. Damon Kronski, leader of the Extinctionists cult, proves to be much easier planned than achieved. To make it more complicated, there's now a fledgling romantic situation in play, and the return of an enemy from the past who also wants possession of the lemur.Artemis isn't as devious and diabolical as in earlier books, but to his credit, the kid is growing up and has other things on his mind. This book is action-packed with the usual gadgetry and humor, but as is the case with time paradoxes, it is sometimes hard to keep things straight. The plot also has several twists, obviously getting even twistier in the final chapters. The story ends with an obvious hint for another book. And "What about the Kraken?" you may ask. Well, that part of the story is explosive, to say the least.Amanda Richards, August 1, 2008

The Time Paradox starts off when Artemis returning home 3 years later. He now has 2 little brothers and he's growing up. This book is action packed the entire way, there's no rest at all in this book. It also seems to have the beginnings of a romance between Artemis and Holly. Artemis isn't the "bad guy" of the previous books. The plot of this book is Artemis must go back in time to save a Lemur and he has to face his younger self. It's very complicated at times and hard to follow. This book also is a bit on the disturbing side when it comes to the Extincionists. These guys are messed up. The budding romance between Holly and Artemis is a bit odd considering she's an adult and he's a teen. I'm curious how this will work out and be moraly right at the same time (although they are 2 different species....hmmm). An reintroduction of a old enemy is here too. The ending of this book leaves it open for another afterwards and frankly if this is the end, it's upsetting. All in all, an excellent book in the Artemis Fowl series, ideal for kids and adults.

(SPOILERS)Another fast-paced Artemis book that was a lot of fun to read in a weekend. Like others who wrote in, I missed Butler and Minerva but didn't find her absence such a mystery at this point. They are, after all, both teenagers and should develop other relationships along what will hopefully be an on-again-off-again relationship throughout future storylines. Instead, I found the Holly & Artemis momentary romance to be endearing and humorous. I worry, though, about Artemis' developing character. Others commented on his not quite being his mastermind self and until the end of the book that is certainly true. I don't think any reader wants Artemis to be "nice". He walks a line that makes him interesting and dangerous and because his inner core really wants to do the right thing, it makes him likable despite himself. Some of that got lost in this edition. Overall, though, it's just another really entertaining and enjoyable sequel that makes me want to read what's next!

My 11-yo son and I both really enjoyed the Artemis Fowl series, but this book was a major letdown. Time travel is difficult to get right, and Colfer missed the mark. The character development in the book is lame, and the story has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. My son didn't make it through the book, and I will certainly not read it a second time. Too bad, I really like Artemis, Holly, Foaly, Mulch and the Butlers, and was hoping to hang out with them for a few more books.

In Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox, Eoin Colfer continues the adventures started in the original Artemis Fowl. This time Artemis must return to the past to stop himself from destroying the last lemur that held the key to curing his mother. When Artemis was 10, he sold this lemur to a group of extinctionists. Now the only thing that will cure his mother is in the brain of that lemur. In an action packed volume, Eoin Colfer pumps up the intensity in the series. The plot moves at a perfect pace and if you understand paradox you can figure out that it sets up more than book six.I highly recommend this book for anyone who has read and enjoyed the other titles in the series.

This book is pretty good and won't likely dissapoint Artemis Fowl fans. It has the usual entertaining elements of the other stories in the series. But for fans of Nathanial Parker, who identified heavily with the characters in part created by his superb narrating abilities, it will be an adjustment. It's not that Enn Reitell is not a great story teller, he really did a servicable job. BUT, I never could get used to the incongruity of the new voices of Butler or Foley in particular. He did a great Mulch. So all in all, not our favorite in the series but well worth the read or listen. I hope Nathanial Parker returns for future Fowl books.

Here we are again, talking about Boom’s release of Power Ranger comics made by their predecessors. As I did in my earlier review for Volume 1, I’ll separate the contributions from those who created the comics (Image, Valiant/Acclaim at the time, and Papercutz this time around) and the company who put them together for this collection (Boom). This time, I’ll start with the companies behind the older comics (I hesitate to say “older companies” since, if you trust Wikipedia, Papercutz and Boom were founded in the same year). Like Volume 1, the comics aren’t as good as Boom’s own books but they’re still fun to read. The Turbo issues and Papercutz comics were, like Hamilton and Marvel before them, basically printed TV episodes, not adding anything new to their respective series other than new adventures. That said, they’re still very fun with interesting stories. They harken back to the early Hamilton comics by only including one story per issue (Ninja Rangers from Volume 1 doesn’t count; those were half stories, the “V.R. Troopers” just weren’t printed) and outshine the later Hamilton and Marvel stories at least partially because of that. The monster designs are better as well and still taking advantage of the fact that they weren’t featured in Super Sentai (the Japanese show Power Rangers came from). That said, when reading the 2nd Turbo story, “Simple Simon Says”, know that you’re not going crazy: either the writer or the artist (or both) were not aware who was what Ranger. It’s crazy, that’s all I can say about it. The 2nd Megaforce issue “Broken World” has one similar “oopsie” compared “Simple Simon Says’” many.I want to give the Zeo issue its own paragraph, as it was truly the best issue of either volume of the MMPR Archive series and possibly the closest another comic company comes to being as good as Boom. Great action but also a fun and nuanced look in the Rangers’ private lives, one of the reasons I love Boom’s comics. Other than the overly muscled Rangers, the art’s fabulous and the best of any pre-Boom work. It gets major points by matching the TV series’ look (save for a green Zordon; it’s a minor thing if you’ve read the older comics) and the colors look great, almost painterly with how it’s done. It’s a shame Image didn’t have the license to continue the story they started here, but the story reads great on its own and is the jewel in Power Rangers comic book crown... at least as far as pre-2016 comics are concerned.Which leads to Boom and their work putting this collection together. As before, it’s clear Boom couldn’t/wasn’t comfortable putting in the level of restoration Marvel and DC does for their collections. However, it’s also clear the Boom DID put effort in making these comics look better and did more than just scan the comics (with something I’m sure is beyond what a fan might have access too) and compile them in the book. I am slightly disappointed with the quality of the Papercutz comics as I figured, being relatively recent comics, Papercutz might still have had the digital files and Boom could’ve just copied them into this collection. That said, they still look pretty good and, perhaps, in better shape than the other comics in this book.Unless I missed something, we DON’T have a repeat of the mess from Volume 1. In the earlier book, one comic had its pages out of order and one was missing its last page completely. Thankfully, no similar problems happened here (and I’ll take a moment to mention the two errors were fixed for Volume 1, at least for the Kindle and Comixology versions).Boom went the extra mile and compiled all the extra pages that were originally published in the older comics. Activity pages, letters from fans, and editor columns are all included here, including those from Volume 1’s Hamilton and Marvel issues. You could argue that Hamilton and Marvel’s extras should’ve been included in Volume 1, but that’s like complaining that you must eat chocolate cake to get pie; you’re still getting something wonderful at the end (substitute your two favorite treats to make that analogy apply to you :) ). I was not expecting those and it was a pleasant surprise. There’s another surprise and it’s not nearly as pleasant (the faux-pas referred to in the title). It regards what’s NOT included in this collection. Going by the omission of adaptations of the 1995 movie, V.R. Troopers and Masked Rider in Volume 1, I wasn’t expecting “Power Rangers Turbo vs Beetleborgs Metallix” to be in this volume. Disappointing, yes, but I’ll give Boom the benefit of the doubt and assume there were rights issues (either just by being separate from Power Rangers or that plus the fact it adapted a different Japanese series that Toei would want a separate fee for). The big surprise was that Papercutz Free Comic Book Day issue “By Bug... Betrayed” was also omitted. For the life of me, I don’t know WHY it wasn’t included since it clearly took place in the TV series’ continuity and had no characters outside Power Rangers. I was disappointed but I wasn’t annoyed. This is where the major problem I have with the book comes in... issue #1 of Boom’s own Mighty Morphin Power Rangers IS included in this volume. I love Boom’s Power Rangers comics and the comics in the MMPR Archive collection wish they were Boom quality. I truly enjoy reading issue #1... AFTER reading issue #0 and BEFORE issue #2 when I’m reading the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Vol. 1 collection. Now, I already have the original “By Bug... Betrayed” before it got taken off Comixology so I was going to end up with two copies of a comic anyway. That’s not the point: the Archive collection is supposed to be for older, non-Boom comics that haven’t been available in print for years and none of Boom’s comics match that description: they’re easily available and clearly can’t be non-Boom comics if they’re from Boom. With that said, I’ll calm down and give Boom the benefit of the doubt (although I’m being generous) and assume there was some trouble with including “By Bug... Betrayed.” The ONLY thing I can think of, and this goes hand in hand with how I THINK these comics were remastered and put into the Archive, is a problem dating back to a problem with “By Bug... Betrayed’s” original publication. When it was published in 2014 as a physical book on Free Comic Book Day, there was a panel where the villainized Radbug (long story, not the point) hits Trini, with an impact star and a word balloon for Trini saying, “Ow, my leg!” She was barely hit, it’s nothing visible, and nothing more is made of the hit, but there was negative fan reaction as Trini’s original actress was killed in a car accident. When the comic came out digitally, the panel was changed to Kimberly barely escaping getting hit. The new version never got a physical release or included in another collection. My thinking is that Boom only had access to the physical books and, for whatever reason, couldn’t get access to Papercutz’s files. With that limitation, I assume they were worried about courting the same controversy and just substituted their comic.I’ll also say this: Boom wasn’t acting maliciously and, with whatever their reason for not including “By Bug... Betrayed,” just wanted to give readers 23 more pages of comics. I’ll also give them credit for not reprinting issue #0 again. It’s another good issue, but it has already been reprinted in Saban’s Power Rangers: Aftershock (the follow-up comic to the 2017 movie) and Soul of the Dragon (the one referred to jokingly as “Old Man Tommy”). It’s a slim silver lining but in today’s world, I’ll look for and take what I can get.Ultimately, it’s only 23 pages out of a roughly 460-page book. The remastering could’ve been way better but it’s decent, the comics themselves are fun and better than those in Volume 1 in both story and art, there are no hiccups within the comics included in the collection, and there’s bonus pages I don’t think anyone was expecting. Don’t let my score fool you, “By Bug... Betrayed” being replaced by Boom’s issue #1 is a huge problem for me and while I doubt it’ll happen, I hope Boom will add “By Bug... Betrayed” to an updated version of this book or add it to a future Lost Chronicles volume. I just won’t let it detract from an otherwise decent collection.

This book looks good. Sadly there's still a few select comics that I thought would make it on here but didnt. But there's also comics I didn't even know existed in this book. The Zeo #1 book from Image before they lost the license, 2 Turbo comics from Acclaim/Valiant (not the vs. Beetleborgs book sadly), and all of the Papercutz comics (except for the FCBD issue) which covers MMPR, Samurai, and Megaforce.I'd love to see a Vol 3 since I know there's still comics from the archives out there though I doubt this will be made.

If you're a fan of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, then I recommend this. The volumes are a collection of the 90's comic books turned into a graphic novel complete with the old school artwork. I already have volume 1 and was looking forward to volume 2 to complete my collection. It has the old school comics including published fan letters from the 90's. Also at the end of this collection is #1 of the new MMPR comic as well as advertisements for the new comic series.

A valuable adjunct to other accounts of the bridge, in that Trachtenberg discusses the presence of the bridge in art and literature -- the poetry of Whitman and Hart Crane, the photography of Walker Evans, etc. Very useful for documenting that dimension of the story of the Brooklyn Bridge. Grant Hildebrand, professor emeritus, University of Washington

I read this book for a class as an example of the myth and symbol approach. To me, it serves as a superb example of that school, but the account of the bridge itself underwhelmed me--perhaps because of the age of the text.

Amy sedaris. What can you say? She's hilarious. She's a beautiful women. She's not comfortable in this world. What genius really is?

I get the feeling that Amy Sedaris is simply telling us about her actual life, and we interpret it as humor. That's part of the charm. Also some of these craft ideas are probably actually worth doing.

She is sooo funny, and has the same humor as her brother, David Sedaris. But in a different style...it can be enjoyed by simply browsing through it. You wouldn't really sit down and read it cover to cover. The quality of the pages is really high, so it's fun to page through it. I was surprised by this, considering how cheap it was.She has another book too, which I've also purchased. They are equally great.

If you are looking for an actual craft book, this is not one. I thought this would have actual cute crafts to work on but it is really just funny commentary by Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello. I'm a big fan of Amy Sedaris, so if you love her humor-which is not for everyone- you will love this book. It's packed with pictures and drawings which are awesome, and of course they are hilarious but if you're looking to do crafts, this doesn't offer much at all. For example, "Love Chimes" for your lover were a bunch of rusty nails strung together! I have the book in my living room and people love to flip through it and laugh - or wonder what kind of weirdo I am. :)

I pulled this book out of it's mailer face down, so the first thing I saw was Amy Sedaris in a crafted indian squaw outfit standing in front of a redskin habitat, holding a pipe of some kind.. I literally was laughing before I even opened the book! What amazes me is the level of detail in the photos! There are very subtle elements that are full on 100% Sedaris, and keep me rolling as I find something new every time I look. I don't know how she does it, but I love it. She can be the envy of any burned out elementary school teacher and a sadistic comedian simultaneously. Bipolar entertainment at its finest.

Seriously, I laughed so hard I peed, probably because it is a combination of the most inane things that I sometimes think and am shocked to see someone else thought too and the fond memories I have of awful 20 year old crafting books my crazy Aunt Caro use to send me every year for Christmas. Love you Aunt Caro! I bought it for my assistant because of our mutual love of Amy's brother, David Sedaris' writing and her love of crafting. When I got home I started to look through it and then read it cover to cover and laughed, cried and peed, the entire time. This can be a book for those who take crafting and themselves serious, but never at the same time and never so much that they can't laugh at either. Just when you think that she has out done herself she has something more outlandish on the very next page. I can't say that after reading this I plan to go out and make any of the crafts she has suggested except for Moses' Comb Sheath! Thank you Amy for making me pee my pants!

This is very much in the spirit of Amy Sedaris's online show At Home With Amy Sedaris. The biggest joy is the contrast between the format of a familiar craft guide from the 70s with the serious, authoritative writing --- and the absurd nature of the craft projects and inept execution. It's lavishly and lovingly illustrated with photos of tacky recycled bottlecaps, suspicious strips of burlap and lurking acorns, and contains frighting suggestions about what to do with same. For the Pinterest Fail in your heart.

Amy Sedaris is so funny and this book offers so many fun crafts that are sure to leave your life improved substantially.

Not very helpful for PhD students in anthropology or social science. Much of it is simplistic. Krathwohl and Smith (2005) is better.

Another Master's text. This item arrived on time and is an excellent purchase.I like it very much and am VERY glad I ordered it. Thank you so much Amazon.com for the great price, good value and prompt delivery. I use this item frequently.

This book helped me put together a mock dissertation proposal and will help with my final document. A little long....but then again so too will be my dissertation.

This text was required by a professor in one of my graduate level courses. This has provided a helpful overview of the grant writing process and provided a framework from which I can work to develop skill in this area.

I rented this book and found it useful, so decided to purchase it in electronic version--only to find that I could no longer read it on my Kindle. Why make a book available electronically but not on an actual reading device? As it is, I do too much reading on a lit screen for my graduate school career, and the reason I have a Kindle is so that I can take my lightweight portable device anywhere and highlight, look up terms, bookmark etc. without staring at a lighted screen or having to sit in front of my computer to read. It's a good book, recommended by my advisor, but why on earth not make it available on the reading device Amazon created? Especially when it was rentable on said device.

Good Masters degree program assist,

Interesting read but most of the four assigned chapters were, more or less, common sense. This made the reading pretty dull.

As a text required for a doctoral class in writing proposals for our dissertations, this text did outline the process and looked at what we need to do to continue our work towards completing this process.

From the Back Cover

In this riveting fantasy adventure that VOYA called "absolutely necessary for middle grades," thirteen-year-old Jax Aubrey discovers a secret Eighth Day with roots tracing back to Arthurian legend. Fans of Percy Jackson will devour this first book in a new series that combines exciting magic and pulse-pounding suspense. When Jax wakes up to a world without any people, he assumes it's the zombie apocalypse. But when he runs into his eighteen-year-old guardian, Riley Pendare, he learns that he's really in the Eighth Day—an extra day sandwiched between Wednesday and Thursday. Some people—like Jax and Riley—are Transitioners, able to live in all eight days, while others, including Evangeline, the elusive teenage girl who's been hiding in the house next door, exist only on this special day. There's a reason Evangeline's hiding. As the descendant of the powerful wizard Merlin, her magic is highly sought by corrupt Transitioners who want to use her to destroy the seven-day world. Torn between protecting his new friend and saving the human race from destruction, Jax is faced with an impossible choice. Even with an eighth day, time is running out. Be sure to check out The Inquisitor's Mark, the spellbinding second novel in the Eighth Day series.

I'm in my forties, so I may not be a Young Adult, but I still have the soul of one. I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoy reading any other genre, and do not see any reason to limit its readership to any age group or category. The central concept of The Eighth Day appears to be a very unique idea--especially to myself, an avid reader of comic books and a fan of sci fi and fantasy for 40-plus years. The twist of Arthurian lore adds to the levels of creativity, allowing access to different clans/houses/families with different powers and abilities. Having been a fan of Arthurian stories from Sir Thomas Malory to T.H. White to Mike Barr and Brian Bolland to Warren Murphy to Bernard Cornwell, it's nice to be able to enjoy these legends anew. (If you're not familiar with any of those creators I name-checked, they're worth your while.)Add Dianne Salerni to that list. She has such a smooth writing style that the words seem to jump off the page and into your mind on their own. Her level of characterization sets this book apart from many others in the Young Adult genre, as not only is the main character fully fleshed out, so are many of the supporting characters. In several chapters the main point of view switches to one of these other characters, and those chapters are set in a different font. This is a nice method of storytelling that helps to emphasize the difference between "normal" people and those trapped in the eighth day.Combine all of this with a plot that picks up speed and becomes ever more exciting, and The Eighth Day turns into a book that cannot be put down. At least, this particular grown-up needed less than half of the titular eight days to devour this novel.

I went to college with this author so I wanted to see what she was writing. She became a local teacher, however, I really haven't' been in touch with her besides facebook, twitter, and the occasional run in. As I began the book I was thinking, wow, Dianne wrote this? By the time I finished it, and the other two books, the fact that I know the author was nowhere in my thoughts. It is just a really good book and series. I am hoping it gets picked up for additional books. I really want to learn even more about the characters. These books are great for middle schoolers. I am hoping one day I can get my high school kids away from their activities to read them, but I am not holding my breath because neither reads much for fun.......what a shame too....it's not like I don't read enough in front of them!

Geez, I almost wish I hadn't given both of this author's first two books a five-star rating. Not that they didn't deserve it, but now what do I do with THIS book? It's her best one yet, and I don't have a higher rating to give it. (But it deserves at LEAST a six!)This book was an absolute delight. I mean, who wouldn't be intrigued by the concept of a secret eighth day of the week... we could ALL use one of them at one time or another. But THIS eighth day of the week only exists for certain descendants of folks like King Arthur, Merlin, and the knights of the round table. Neat, huh?But Jax doesn't think it's so neat the first time he experiences a Grunday. Nobody had warned him, so awakening to a strange-looking pink sky and no signs of life around him kinda throws him for a loop. The more he learns about this extra day and his role as one of those special descendants, the deeper he gets into a dangerous struggle to preserve life on earth as we know it, a struggle in which it isn't always clear who's friend and who's foe. This story is filled with great characters, an intriguing adventure, and lots of action, sprinkled with bits of humor. Even a teeeensy bit of romance. Youngsters... and the young at heart... will fall in love with it. Salerni truly outdid herself with this book, and I sincerely hope there's gonna be a sequel.

Imagine a day between Wednesday and Thursday, in which people are trapped, put there centuries earlier by King Arthur and his allies. These are the Kin, King Arthur’s adversaries and they are imprisoned in the Eighth Day to keep the rest of the world safe. Imagine, too, people called Transitioners, who can move between the Normal world and this Eighth Day and who have enhanced talents to protect and help them. And last, imagine a group of people who are plotting to break the Eighth Day spell, to exact revenge on King Arthur’s descendants, obliterate the people of the Normal world and release the Kin in their place. This is the central conflict in The Eighth Day, an exciting fantasy adventure by Dianne K. Salerni. It’s a story with a simple beginning that explodes into global proportions. Jax Aubrey has just turned thirteen and his parents are dead. His guardian, Riley is eighteen and does not seem up to the job. Jax doesn’t know what to think when he wakes up in the Eighth Day, but he soon learns there is a lot going on that he doesn’t understand. All this starts with Evangeline, the mysterious girl next door, who is trapped in the Eighth Day. All heck breaks loose when they become friends and Jax unknowingly puts many in danger. The Eighth Day has many characters with blurred alliances and motives that cross between good and bad. Despite the complexities, you don’t need to be an expert on King Arthur and the players during that legendary time to enjoy this book. Salerni does a great job explaining the plots and subplots and recaps the complicated developments in a way that does not seem repetitive, but is definitely appreciated. The characters are propelled to the story’s ultimate conflict in a huge battle for control of the Eighth Day. Many plot twists drive the story’s sometimes misunderstood characters to an exciting and shocking finish.Although The Eighth Day is a Young Adult fantasy adventure, its themes carry adult messages. Salerni poses questions of honor, loyalty and sacrifice throughout the book. In addition to understanding how opposing sides work together for their own benefit, the reader must consider the question of whether it is right to sacrifice some for the survival of the masses.I enjoyed this book very much. I was glad to have it on my Kindle because it made it easy to search names and places. But that’s more because I’m many years beyond being a Young Adult!

Tucker and his identical twin brother Trent are in trouble in college again. They switched places so Trent could take Tucker’s test, they got caught. They are star hockey players for Strickland University and they both got suspended for two games. Jemma transferred to Strickland University her junior year, she had to get away from her boyfriend who proposed to her. Jemma didn’t want to be stuck in Lancaster. Jemma is pledging a sorority that has her sister in it. The pledges have to run through the Quad in American Flag bikinis. Tucker saw Jemma and grabbed her by the arm both end up on the ground. Jemma ends up groping Tucker. Trent sees Jemma in the cafeteria and tries to talk to her. Neither Trent nor Tucker knew the other was talking to Jemma. Trent got the first kiss and had sex with her first. Tucker had sex with her also. Jemma finds out that they are identical twins and she thinks they were doing it on purpose. Will Jemma be able to forgive Trent and Tucker? Will Trent realize that he has feelings for Jemma? Will Tucker back off?

I absolutely love the Kane Twins. When Trent & Tucker meet Jemma they both know she’s something special but Jemma doesn’t realize they are twins. Both Trent and Tucker want a chance with Jemma but her heart belongs to only one. I absolutely love this series, the characters and I didn’t want the story to end. Can’t wait too read the next book in this series.

A fun read with a generous dose of angst. Reminiscent of Shakespeare’s comedies where mistaken identities reign and bring a bit of chaos. Jemma with a J finds the love of her life.I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ok so I didn't like this one as much as the last one This book seemed a little rushed but was still a good read. She could have gotten a lot more detail of what was going on.

Fun read!! Enjoyable sweet confusing for Jemma read, enjoying the Face-Off Legacy so far, can't wait for Tucker's story!

I gave this book a four rating because it was a good story and I enjoyed the characters and how they grew

I began with the legacy series, Pucking Parker. I didn’t realize these were the kids! Read the dads first! Amazing books with sexy hockey guys! Can’t wait to read them all!

I was very disappointed in this book. I loved the first one, but this one was booooring. The main problem was that the love story doesn't actually start until 70% through the book. Seriously. Before that, there are just casual moments of the characters getting a glimpse of each other and saying Hi on campus. The rest is full of stupid, gag inducing sorority and fraternity scenes and conversations. Like, Who cares?? Basically NOTHING happened for a very long time and that nothingness wasn't even entertaining. This COULD have been a great story. Once they got together, I liked it, but there was not much of that. (If you are reading this because you loved their dad, Tyler or Preston, you'll be disappointed. They make VERY limited cameos.)Two things I hated in addition to the horrible, childish sorority/ fraternity scenes: 1) the author made the heroine into a girl eager to have sex with a near stranger (which she did with two different guys.) There was not even a date or a resl conversation between them first, and the heroine was the aggressor/ temptress in both instances. Ok, fine. But THEN the author and the hero tries to tell us that the heroine is 'not like that'. Well, clearly she is. We just saw her be like that. I think the author ruined a good character as a sacrifice for what she thought was a hot sex scene. Then again, everything about the heroine, Jemma, contradicted what the author and Jemma tried to tell us about her. Supposedly she was 'above' sorority hijinx, a wholesome girl who didnt even want to be in a sorority and yet she let herself be dressed as a whore and marched through campus over and over. She walked through campus and into a fraternity party in high heels and a bra and panties, dressed as a Lingerie model. (Because all wholesome girls do that, right?) THEN she saw girls there in bikinis and said she pitied them that they were willing to show that much skin. WHAT? She is standing there in lingerie as she says it!!!! Ok, I could go on and on, but you get the point.Secondly, the book is filled with mistakes, where the author calls someone by the wrong name, and/ or completely contrradicts something she has just told us about a character. It became very confusing and could have been easily corrected if she had just asked any reader and listened to a true crtitique before having this (obviously rushed) book printed.
