This was a great GOT read with humor and history!Can't wait for another one by these two authors!

The book isn't a literary masterpiece and the formatting of the Kindle version was a little weird, but the book is fun, funny, and an insightful look into the religions of Westeros and the people who practice them. Not all of the humor lands, but if you don't laugh out loud at least once a chapter, you might need to lighten up.The book follows a (mostly) consistent format, which is nice and goes something like this:1. Travel guide - a tongue in cheek overview of where you'll find practitioners and what they're all about.2. Deep dive - pretty self-explanatory.3. Historical backdrop - where some of GRR's inspiration may have come from based on similarities to actual history.4. Character Study - a look into a main character who practices a particular religion and how it shaped them as a person.5. Excursus - self-explanatory. A little mini-aside appearing within another section.6. Fun fan theory - self-explanatory7. Bird's eye view - where the religions are analyzed with a more critical eye.If you're a fan of the books, show, or Bald Move's podcast, this is definitely worth a read. There's a million worse ways to spend $10.

As a fan of GRRMs work and the HBO series I find myself listening to three hour podcasts about 45 minutes of television and loving the journey, recap and theory crafting as much as the source material.The authors come together from varied disciplines and backgrounds and form a sort of Medieval Voltron of Game Of Thrones Knowledge.A. Ron eats and sleeps GRRM lore as part of his role in their chart-topping (and entertaining) podcast community (Bald Move). Driven with Anthony's professional studies in religious tradition and equally respectable retention of Song of Ice and Fire lore the authors compliment each other nicely.The book is accessible, enjoyable and helps to provide color commentary to The World of Ice and fire and Game of Thrones universe. It is a fast and easily digestible read and I'm looking forward to more!The authors did their homework and their affection for the material shines through.Seeing that this book came through in (less than ) a year, maybe George Martin should just send A. Ron and Anthony his notes and let them finish up Winds of Winter and Dream of Spring on his behalf.They could be the James SA Corey of Fantasy.. Ned AA Hubbard? Jaqen A.A.H. Just finished reading this great book. I’m an regular listener to Bald Move pod casts, so I was very excited to get more insight into this world. I’ve never read any or GRRM books, so I’m a show only person. I really enjoyed how A. Ron and Anthony were able to cover both without making me feel lost. I loved all the tie-ins to other pop culture. Mostly though I felt like I gained a completely new insight into what is happening and why on GoTh and can not wait for Volume 2.

I am a big fan of the Bald Move podcasts, particularly the Game of Thrones HBO show podcast. I purchased this book because I always loved A.Ron's "tinfoil" segments where he discusses various segments of the books in-depth and dissects fan theories. This book is along those lines, there's lots of amazing detail not in the show/only in the books (I'm an avid reader but just could not get through ASOIAF, my attention span wasn't up for it). I thought it had a lot of great insight and was a fun read. There are lots of cultural references that won't make sense in a few years more than likely, but it makes it light and entertaining.Great job A.Ron and Anthony

This is a well thought out explanation on how GOT handles religion, which unfortunately is not crystal clear on the show or the books. With so many regions and their different belief systems and throw in the Crown approved religion and you have a bigger mess than the current world, which maybe was GRRM’s whole point. This book attempts to untangle the web, and is a useful companion to the books.

Aron and Anthony provide a rich, funny, analysis of the religions of Westeros. Great stuff!

As a newer fan of Bald Move’s Game of Thrones coverage, I recently caught up with all seven seasons of their coverage. This book includes the best of the “spoilore” segments of their podcast, plus deeper insights into how ancient and contemporary religions parallel them. I enjoy background details about GoT and enjoyed reading this. I will definitely be anticipating Volume 2.

Dora is delighted, and Thulani is now busy trading animals. His favorite time of day is milking time?when he can finally sit down and have a quiet think. Daly's paintings add to the charm of this story. Bright gold end papers scattered with seeds introduce the good-humored mood. The color scheme of soft greens and golds emphasizes the warm pastoral setting. I purchased this book because I wanted the children to hear a story about another culture. We are learning about South Africa now and conincidentally had just planted sunflower seeds in our garden. The children thought it was funny when Thulani wanted to bask in the sun all day and his wife, Dora, kept coming up with more for him to do.

Really nice story and wonderful lesson - my 3 year old loves it.

When the sunflowers drop their seeds & he feeds them to his chickens - ah! amazing things begin to happen & Dora is happy! Lively story & lovely pictures with some good ideas about work & play, labor & results. A treasure! Great gift material...

I read the Swedish translation of the book in the fall of 1997. This was one of the best childrens books I have read for my 7 year old daughter Kimia. We both liked it. I must admit though that I liked the book more than she did. I had no choice but to start translating it to Persian. I just visited www.amazon.com to purchase the English version of the book. The message in the book in my opinion is that Thulani is not really lazy. It just appears so. The story shows how an apparently lazy person who aimlessly sits in the sun is a wonderful loving individual full of life, energy and ideas. I'd like to see the story as applicable to most of us humans. We are all full of life, energy and ideas. We just have to try. Hopefully, our love, for someone like Dora, will lead us to the right place and time.

I wanted to get a friend a little something from a country she used to live in. This was the perfect choice.

This wonderful cookbook utilizes one of the most potent grains available to us. It's just simply packed with nutrients, has an amazing look and texture that's just simply fun . . . and tastes great. Now with this cookbook I can have much more diversity as it has opened my eyes to possibilities. It's well presented with photos and wonderful recipes to savor, visually and to prepare! I'm going to enjoy it! When I saw it at the library, I knew I was a gonner with my resolve to not buy any more cookbooks . . . and purchased it right away from these folks. Smart move!!

There is so much good written about this book that I don't think anything's been left out!!!The photography is great! Looks like REAL food under true circumstances and as it would be consumed...I thinkit's really well done! LOTS of variety and well, just a well done book! I'm so happy I purchased the Quintessential Quinoa Cookbook. My family is working to eat less meat and more fruit, vegetables, and whole grains. Quinoa, while not a grain - it's a seed, is chocked full of the best kinds of protein. It's an ancient grain that I've grown to love in the past year or so. This book has so many wonderful recipes, everything from main course options to desserts. It's great!

I love Quinoa and was really looking forward to trying some of these recipes, and it sure didn't disappoint. They were delicious, easy steps tofollow, and all the ingredients were actually available at my grocery store. Great find! :)

I purchased this book upon the recommendation that a fellow passenger offered during a recent plane ride. This person described it as a spot-on analysis of America's economic woes and a great guide as to the solutions that we can put into practice. However, as I read the book myself, I discovered that this passenger had been dead wrong in his description of the book.Mr. Lipscomb can preach all he wants--and he does so again and again throughout the book--that, regardless of our race, sex, religious beliefs or political leanings, we must follow his lead to save the US economy by taking action to preserve and restore manufacturing jobs in America. Yet, his analysis of how we arrived at our current situation lays the blame squarely at the feet of the usual suspects from the political Left's perspective. "Wal-Mart and other companies of its ilk" are heavily impugned throughout, and Mr. Lipscomb even stoops to the level of reporting heresay without backing: "Wal-Mart employees are afraid to speak out publicly for fear of retribution, (but) behind closed doors they say that they do not make enough money to either support their families or pay for Wal-Mart's expensive health care." Mr. Lipscombe implores us to write to Congress and demand that our anti-Wal-Mart voices be heard. He warns that it'll be tough, given the large amount of money that Wal-Mart has in buying influence in Washington, D.C. But he exhorts us to "lock arms with (him) and take the fight (against Wal-Mart) to Washington." So, that's the answer, eh? Drive Wal-Mart out of business and the US economy will be saved?Nowhere are the political Left's sacred cows ever mentioned as possible causes of the decline of US manufacturing. Labor unions (which have detrimentally inflated wages and benefits for unskilled and semi-skilled American labor) are not mentioned at all--and in fact Mr. Lipscomb even goes as far as to declare that high American wages are not the problem, that Americans can still enjoy higher wages as long as we push for "a worldwide minimum wage, one that is likely well below the USA standard today, but ensures some level of basic living standard in other countries." Sorry to rain on your party, Mr. Lipscomb, but the equivalent of two US dollars a day does equate to better than basic living standards in much of the world. Indeed, the notion of a "worldwide minimum wage" and tying US living standards to those of nations around the world is pure misguided fantasy, and not worth the paper upon which it is printed--and definitely not the $17.99 that I paid for this book! Mentioned nowhere in the book is the exorbitantly high corporate tax rate in the US. Somewhat mentioned are the too-strict federal government regulations and restrictions on businesses that attempt to manufacture in the US, but Mr. Lipscomb frames this in the context that we must demand that the rest of the world adopt our standards and restrictions "to level the playing field." Again, not likely.The entire book seems to be based upon his distaste for Wal-Mart, coupled with his wish that the rest of the world become more like the US, despite that he himself states in the book that nobody wants to become like us because we are in what he describes as such steep economic decline. Quite a dilemma you've created for yourself, eh Mr. Lipscomb? I suppose he believes that all other nations should strive to become just like the US--minus the existence of Wal-Mart.And, if there were still any lingering doubt as to Mr. Lipscomb's political leanings, his section regarding "What the Federal Government Can Do" cinches it. Rather than suggesting lowering corporate taxes or implementing tax credits for manufacturing in the US, or the relaxing or removing of various regulations and restrictions that prevent US manufacturing from being practical, Mr. Lipscomb instead recommends that "the federal government could convene a nation-wide 90-day Internet and live town hall brainstorming session where every citizen from every walk of life could contribute ideas for turning this situation around." Meaningless pandering, in the true fashion of the political Left, and the perfect forum for Wal-Mart haters everywhere to unite!

This book is an excellent read which opens peoples eyes to the problems we have in our country which is the trade and energy balance and shows people the way us consumers can make a difference and create jobs by supporting American Made Products. This book changed my life cause before I read it I was frustrated about how much debt we have thanks to the trade imbalance and upset that Walmart and others who import a lot of junk from China were putting people out of work and putting us into more debt and I felt like there was nothing I could do about it but after reading the book I felt empowered and real patriotic because now I know I can make a difference with my buying power by supporting only the companies that make stuff in the USA which will make our economy stronger. Free trade is a lie and the only thing that's free about it is all the free money we give to China and I say free cause its not like we get anything valuable in return. All we get is a bunch of poorly made garbage. It's like China thinks we are one big garbage can where they can dump all their crap on.To people who are parents I say if your son or daughter told you they wanted to work in a place where the air and water was polluted and there was no worker or safety laws and the pay was very low and freedom of expression was forbidden would you let them work there? If the answer is no then remember that China uses Child labor so next time you are thinking about buying something from China think if I wouldn't allow my kid or daughter to work under those conditions then I shouldn't support a country that does allow that with my money. .I am glad I read this book cause this book showed me I can make a difference every time I go to make a purchase and make real lasting change in our country so all in all it was a very good read!

I just put this down after only 30 pages or so and I don't think I'll pick it up again. The constant references to the author's online store that specializes in made in the USA products is just too distracting. More than distracting... Its annoying. This thing feels like its sole purpose is to drive traffic to his site. I suspect some of the positive reviewers are paid shills.

This book is very true. We (all of us) need to do something to keep the US working class from losing their jobs. The only problem is that the goods made in the US will cost more because the workers here are treated correctly. So that costs the consumer. Most people do not want to pay a higher price for their goods, and will buy things made in China. Actually, it's very difficult to find anything made in the the US. It's not only Walmart, it's all the stores including Dillards, Macy's etc. It's all a question of greed. Even the food chain is a mess. I like to eat fish several times a week. It's getting hard to find fish that is processed in the US. Why would we buy cod that is fished in the US and processed in China? Soon it will be chicken, beef and vegetables!Wake up Americans. Our country's economy is failing because of a few greedy people making a mint who have the goods made in China for nothing and then sell them here for ten times more.This book is a wake up call. So full disclosure that I've known Raef for a number of years as a colleague and friend. That fact makes it harder for me to be unbiased about this book compared to a work written by an author that I've never met. That said, I feel that this book is an excellent resource. What sets Raef's coverage apart from others in my opinion is two things: 1) the clarity/transparency of the writing and 2) the case studies that he uses to illustrate the points he makes.First, Raef does an excellent job of making difficult concepts easy to understand through *how* he writes. He's able to write in a manner that is both conversational and approachable, but that doesn't "talk down" to the reader. Moreover, he is careful to ground the topics he covers in "real world" examples that help to explain why the reader should care.This book covers quite a bit of ground: from fundamental security concepts to more advanced and technical topics. For a non-practitioner with an interest in security, this is the perfect introduction. It gives them the fundamentals supported by real-world evidence of why they matter. For the beginning practitioner, this provides a fantastic starting point as it serves as a sort of "gateway" to the security community. A new or more junior practitioner can directly "springboard" from this work into areas where they might need to do more detailed research for their particular job. This book lays out in detail the fundamental concepts that they need to understand to approach that material.All in all a great resource.

The book was informative if you know nothing about cyber security. It is very basic. Good for someone that just needs to know the very entry level info, this book isn’t for someone interested in getting into this field.

Not a bad book. It just didn't cover the issues we were looking for. Looks like it would be ok for someone who doesen't have many issues with Cyber security. For those who have a minor amount of saavy regarding the issue you might want to look elswhere. Again, it does say Cybersecurity for Beginners. It was well written with limited emphasis on crucial security issues for chronic attack targets.

A well thought out, intelligently written book on digital security issues and how to combat them, both before and after an attack. Great use of index of terms with their definitions at the end of the book.

Mr. Meeuwisse does an excellent work at doing an introduction about the general concepts of cybersecurity. In my opinion, the book is written for a "business-like" kind of reader and not so much for a technical person.Some parts, have to admit, i skimmed. But in general it is an outstanding book for anyone who doesn't know where to start!

As a n00b in thr cybersecurity space, I found this book to be incredibly insightful. The "Cyber-to-English" dictionary is quite helpful, too!

I learned so much information and events about cyber security that I once never knew! Very helpful for getting into the field. Covers the basics and informative.

Go-to handbook. The concepts will click even if you have never worked in such an environment before, and if you have it will make you see the past issues and possible solutions more clearly. Excellent book!

I would expect better quality for a book titled "The Process Improvement Handbook"This book had warped pages and poor binding. The book also had very poor graphics. Cheap constrution quality for a hard cover book.

Excellent breadth of process improvement methods and tools. Do not expect significant depth or explanation on each method or tool. Regardless, the templates are very useful!

Ok, full disclaimer: I am an agile person - eat, drink, sleep, and dream agile/lean. I crossed the bridge to agility in 2003 and since burned the bridge. So it was with ample skepticism but open mind that I undertook this nuts-and-bolts book, temporarily suspending my personal connotations of "process management".What I found intrigued and delighted me. When I stepped aside of my "ask the team" mindset, my "just sprint and all will be revealed to you" mantra, I realized that Boutros and Purdie have managed to not only neatly distill the ABCs of process improvement, but build an entire process ecosystem. Sure, some of the "labels" of things aren't maybe what I'd call them, but the notion of process improvement and process care-taking are necessities, and therein lies the meat of this book. The fact is that someone (or a bunch of someones) needs to usher and guide good process refinements, of course including the team and business stakeholders in that exercise. Forget the nuance of labels; rather, read this book with an attempt to understand the purpose, the bigger picture, the thing that matters.Too many companies fall short on reliable, sustainable processes, and end up doing their customers and teams a disservice. While it is impossible to mistake-proof a complex adaptive system we call a 'business' (which by nature of being a business, evolves a little each and every day), it is certainly valuable for process minded people to help the business solve every day issues, from big to small, building a system that in turn signals when there are problems.
